Cellular mechanisms involved in thermal adaptation in zebrafish

Ever since I conducted my Diplom thesis in the group of Hans-Otto Poertner at the Alfred-Wegener Insitute in Germany, I am fascinated by the influence of temperature on the physiology of fish. 

In my lab we use a zebrafish liver cell line (ZFL-1) to study cellular processes involved in thermal limitations and adaptation. The methods we are using include qPCR, flow cytometry, and spectrophotometry.
